Perhaps you can do what I'm doing. I suck at coding, but I've been learning enough to build a game that will share that i am serious and can stick to a project. Perhaps you could start learning a little AS3 and make something small. It will give you more understanding of what goes into production.

Hit me up on skype today (after 10:30pm CST or so, working) or tomorrow. I have a lot of experience programming (Java, C#, Freebasic, Clojure, a little bit of assembly even) that I turned straight around to making music instead, so maybe I can point you in the right direction. If nothing else I'm always willing to answer questions, it helps keep my skills sharp :)
